Legends ofAmarna

Warning! The anathema is here.

The doctrine that poisoned the souls of many, that wrought blood against blood, life against life. Aspasia has not been the same, nor will it ever be. As history fades into legend, and legend into myth, so too are the whispers of peace that had once brought each of the races together in harmony. As such a time faded into history, so does the chaos grow - the resentment that breeds loathing - that brings about war.

With the world pitted against each other, each race, equines, canines, and felines taking sides, the question is, which side will you choose?

Nelayryn

The summer stretched on. Even she, as serene as she could muster, was beginning to feel its effects. The court seemed sluggish, its rooms muggy, its courtiers slow and listless. Fire threatened in every patch of grass, every crackling-dry forest grove... as empress, she felt that, perhaps, this was her fault. Nature would go its own way, of course, and there was no accounting for the weather, but perhaps if she had been more proactive in care of the land, there would be less threat of fire...

She shook her head .

No, that wasn't right. It couldn't be right. She had come so freshly to her throne... there was no chance for her to have looked so closely at her empire just yet – that it had fallen into disarray was no one's fault, but it was an occurrence of the throne being empty for so many years.

The mare stepped lazily through the grass and finally stopped at the water's edge, watching the light glittering off surface ripples for a moment before lowering her head to drink. Even the cascades were running lower than usual, depths dried shallow by the sun and heat.

Llewel slithered off Nelayryn's back and into the dry grass with a wheezing little huff, then into the water like a rather large, pink snake, though few snakes ever shimmered so much as Llewel. His whine of relief brought a ripple of laughter from the empress and she stepped forward to join him. As she moved farther and farther into the lake, until the water reached her ankles, her knees, her barrel, she sighed in contentment.
”What a wonderful idea, little one...”
”I know.” he replied, smug as a fed cat in their mental bond. ”All my ideas are wonderful.”
