Legends ofAmarna

Warning! The anathema is here.

The doctrine that poisoned the souls of many, that wrought blood against blood, life against life. Aspasia has not been the same, nor will it ever be. As history fades into legend, and legend into myth, so too are the whispers of peace that had once brought each of the races together in harmony. As such a time faded into history, so does the chaos grow - the resentment that breeds loathing - that brings about war.

With the world pitted against each other, each race, equines, canines, and felines taking sides, the question is, which side will you choose?

SWP 1, Part 1. From the Embers

Site Wide Plot 1, Part 2
June 3rd - July 5th

From the Embers

Rain has not blessed the land in what seems like eons. It is as if Lazin has forsaken the world. Turning his back and abandoning all. Showers have fallen, a time or two, but it is never enough and come the end of the summer it feels as if winter is nothing more than a myth. The world has become so dry that the earth splits and the once green grass and trees are now brittle and dying. Fear that even the smallest spark would set the land ablaze takes hold.

Many have the thought at the back of their minds, but still others believe it was just a paranoia - until it isn’t. One dark night as the world sleeps, it happens. The night sky turns from navy blue, to a violent hue of red. Da’avi Paradise is burning. The land has fared better than many other parts of Aspasia the fact that it catches fire comes as a great shock. Still, the drought has been a bad one, surely it had to be from a random lightning strike or something just as inconspicuous. In all honestly no one knows how it started, only that it had. The blaze rages for nearly three days before finally wearing itself out.

Afterwards, the world returns to normal. No worries to fret about, after all it had just been a fire in the open lands. The kingdoms do not worry themselves about such a thing, and for a while all is well.

Than it happens, again.

Smoke fills the air and the sound of crackling awakens a group of traveling feline merchants that are making their way through the Xandu Wilderness. They awake to find a fiery inferno.

Beneath the haze of smoke, the travelers spot a strange shadow flying overhead. It wheels and turns away from them. What it is they do not know. They flee, barely escaping with their lives as two members of their band are badly burned. One is a tiger cub who succumbs to her injuries in the weeks that follow. The death of the child enrages scores of people and a cry goes up to discover the source of the fire. Some blame the merchant’s campfire. In the already dry world, a mere errant spark was surely to blame.

Upon hearing about the shadow some began to look outwards and the blame fell to other Kingdoms. It has to be that simply. Some of the Vasta have wings, and so does some among the Vata. The Empress of the Vata has wings, certainly it was them, countless cried. Revenge became the bloodthirsty battlecry. The Vata must be made to suffer and burn like the child had.

As chaos spreads so do the fires. More crop up and it is unclear if they are natural or if someone is starting them. Maybe it is a bit of both. Fires seem to be starting at an alarming rate and not only in the Ventri Kingdom, but in all kingdoms. It begins in wildernesses. More fires break out but they are rather small and easy to extinguish. After twilight, on a day like any other, a fairly large fire starts in Perigrin Port, just on the outskirts of the area. This fire is not as easy to extinguish. It is a nightmare that overtakes a good part of the outer edge. No one notices a child that goes missing. That is, not until it is far too late. Sometime after dawn, among the smoldering embers and charred remains, the body of the child found, still sleeping in its bed. Now Vata begins pointing fingers. Rumors that they are to blame for the fire that had killed the Ventri youth, have reached their ears and this most assuredly is backlash.

Increasingly larger numbers of fires begin cropping up. Some in the wilderness, others near towns and cities. The world is being set ablaze. While there is still tension, everyone begins to realize that whomever or whatever is causing these fires do so without regard for alliance or territory. Sometimes, not always, stories come along with the flames. Tales of a menacing shadow. Heavy wingbeats flying away into the night. These are only rumors and the people cry out for the truth. Now it is time to find the true source of the flames.

The world is ablaze! And while each alliance thought their enemies were at fault, they are now beginning to realize that the arsonist is much more powerful and unbiased than originally thought. For the first part of the site-wide plot, it is up to your characters to search for the source of the fires. All searching must be done IC, and should be done with at least two characters in each thread. Unlike questing where the staff account posts after every IC post, the staff account will only post once with a prompt after each character in the thread has posted twice. At the end of the event, the perpetrator will be revealed, and the prompt for part two will be released.

All participants in this part of the SWP will receive 100 dewdrops for each completed thread, 20 dewdrops for each thread in which each character has posted at least 3 times, and a unique prize at the end of this part of the event.
