Legends ofAmarna

The hourglass drips on and on, and over time history fades.

What is truth to a king? A tyrant? A god?

And you? What do you value most?

Once upon a time, the land of Aspasia prospered under the peaceful rule of a grand council. Now it's kingdoms lay shattered, its people divided, and its most ancient civilization forgotten. After a thousand years of struggle and the recent opening of ancient portals, long considered obsolete, the world is changing, and its inhabitants struggling. Each choice, each decision, now more important than ever. And you? Which side will you choose?

I could not have made it this far
had there not been angels along the way.

Jostaki had left again, her mate, her bond. However, her heart felt full. She did not know when she would see him next, perhaps it would be after she passed on from this life back into the world where she came from. She was here as a mortal, or at least semi-mortal. She could not pass between worlds as she once had, freely and at will. At least not for now. But she knew that she would see him again and it would not be an eternity. Their precious moments spent had filled her up. Gave her a sense of comfort that it wasn't over yet.

As always, she wandered, and her thoughts had brought her here where she had first entered this world. "Aspasia" as they called it. She felt she was here for a purpose. Usually her tasks were not in vain, and rarely was she sent somewhere just to "enjoy." Not that she couldn't find a sense of pleasure from wherever she was stationed... but there always seemed to be a mission to fulfill, work to complete. It didn't bother her. It gave her a sense of meaning. She had been an angel after all. Though she supposed she still was... even if she bore mortal flesh and bones. Perhaps here in this broken world, this land of drought, ash, and fire, would she be able to find a solution. She was here to help, and help she would - even if it wasn't as much as she would like.

Coming to one of the tall blue-stone portals, she studied the strange script. It was still familiar to her, even if she could not think of why. She could not read it, yet it was like the mist of a dream - veiling her mind to it's mysteries. She would need to find a library or archive of some sort. She had walked through one and ended up here. Perhaps the words would unveil whatever history, whatever magic made these ancient portals work. Perhaps she could find answers there. Shifting into her human form, she pulled out a pen and a piece of paper and began copying the text. She had time, she would begin to uncover whatever mysteries laid behind these doors.
